She is a retired elementary school teacher, mother of two grown children, and wife for over 31 years. One dreary morning's drive awakened her passion for writing prayer-poetry as God greeted her with a spectacular sunrise. Her flow of words and faith has filled two self-published books so far.

From Cream for Your Coffee…Sherrill's Book of Poetry

Lord, fill me with Your Spirit

That soars on wings of grace.

Help me to walk always in thankfulness.

Lord, may I recognize Your face.

 

Don’t let me miss the sunshine

On a day that You have kissed.

And even on days of winter

Help me not to have missed

 

The ways that You speak to our hearts

In blessings we come to expect,

Our food, our family, the flowers, the trees,

Let me thank You with all respect.

 

Help my heart stay in tune with Yours

As I encounter come what may,

But don’t let me look past my blessings,

That You send me day after day.
